MSDN-AA PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance (MSDN-AA) program allows students and faculty in participating university departments to download certain Microsoft software products and install them on their personal computers for academic use at no cost. GVSU students are eligible to participate in Seidman's MSDN-AA program during semesters in which they are enrolled in certain accounting or information systems courses. You may continue to use software obtained under the terms of the program even after you have completed your courses and your eligibility has expired.
The products currently available to eligible Seidman students through the MSDN-AA Program include:
- Office Accounting Professional 2008
- Access 2007
- Project Professional 2003 and 2007
- Visio Professional 2003 and 2007
- One Note 2007
- Infopath 2007
- Office Groove 2007
- Expression Studio
- Visual Studio 2008 Professional
- Windows XP Professional
- Windows Vista Business
- Windows 7 Professional
- Windows Server 2008
- SQL Server 2008 Professional
The core Microsoft Office products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are NOT available through the MSDN-AA program. Note that participants are only allowed one order for each software product regardless of the number of eligible courses in which you enroll during your time at GVSU. Participants may not sell, rent, lease, lend, or give/transfer software acquired through the program to any third party (e.g. another student or other person who is not eligible). For complete licensing information please refer to Microsoft's End User License Agreement.
If you do not wish to partipate in the MSDN-AA program you are under no obligation to do so, simply discard the invitation e-mail and do not order any software.
ACCESSING THE MSDN-AA DOWNLOAD SITE
One to two weeks into a semester in which you are enrolled in an eligible course you will receive an e-mail from e-academy.com providing a link to the Seidman MSDN-AA software order site, your username for that site, and your initial password. This message will be sent to your GVSU e-mail address regardless of your GVSU or Blackboard e-mail preferences, so you must either check your GVSU mailbox or make arrangements to forward mail sent to your GVSU mail to another account.
After you have received your account information you can access Seidman's software order site by clicking here. If you believe you are eligible for the MSDN-AA program but do not receive an invitation e-mail in the given timeframe please contact your instructor.
